We shared the results of the 2016 Needlework Challenge.
Pat Y. - Completed all five pieces
Robin T. - Completed four of the five
Stacy S. - Completed all five
Prizes were awarded.

The 2017 Challenge
This year the challenge will be much the same as last year.   Credit will be given for the completion of any piece that was started prior to January 1, 2017.   The criteria is that they cannot be more than 50% completed prior to January 2st.

Patrick will be keeping track of the finishes during 2017.   He has created a binder, with each member have their page.  Member finishes will be posted within the binder which will become a perpetual record of projects and dates finished.

Fireside Stitchery
Unwanted charts were taken to Fireside Stitchery where they were sold on eBay by Fireside.   We saw a profit of over $200 for our treasurer.

Woodlawn
If you wish to display any items at Woodlawn, please submit to Karen's Needlework Shop in Pitman by January 31st.   Again this year, Karen K. and Pat Y. will deliver these to Woodlawn for display.

Dues
Dues is now do!   If you have not already done so, please send your dues for:   DVHSG, PO Box 1292, Hockessin, DE  19707

Stitch-a-longs
A couple of stitch-a-longs of note....
On Facebook by Linens and Threads, a mystery sampler with a new band released each month.  No threads are designated and this is a great one to clean out your stash of threads.  There are stitchers from 53 countries involved.

Also, on Facebook is the Corsica River Stitch-a-long hosted by Robin T. of our guild.   Corsica River is a sampler by Barbara Hutson of Queenstown Samplers.   The design is plotted for a two-year completion.  Cross stitch, Assisi and Blackwork are the stitches used.    Information is also available on Robin's blog, Crafting with the Stitch Witch.  Scroll to the bottom of that post for information and the link to the FB group.

Take advantage of Salty Yarns Annual Super Bowl Sale for fabrics, fibers, patterns.

Spring Retreat
Spring Retreat at Salty Yarns will be April 28 - 30.  This is a MEMBERS ONLY event.   The price for 2016 was $135 and should be similar this year.

Fundraiser
Stacy S. and her co-workers are hosting a Tooth Fairies with a Purpose, April 27, at Cavaliers County Club.   Tickets include dinner, silent auction, 50/50 and cash bar.   Proceeds go to "Asperger's of Delaware"

And now the work of our hands.........many thanks to Caryl C. and Lynn D. who forwarded the information and photos to this blog writer since I missed the January meeting.
